Q: Which proton pump acid inhibitor (Nexium, Prevacid, etc.) do you think is the best? anyone tried Rabeprazole?
found out my insurance doesn’t pay for Nexium, but may others, anybody have that problem with their insurance? why u think the reason? I always get in a battle with them for paying for Viagra (10-20 $/ pill) like Medicare was paying but not for other drugs, politicians felt even though age in 70’s and 80’s very important drug Viagra, shows what our gov officials spend a lot of time doing on our salary with our money
or if someone had liver disease, which least effects?

A: Nexium is the best I’ve tried. Have you tried Prilosec? It’s Over-the-counter and works quite well. Ask your doctor for a close generic to Nexium. The insurance companies most always will cover the generic scripts. If it involves the male of our species nothing is too good or expensive for them. WHY? Because most of our government is run by a bunch a OLD, FAT MALE B- – - – - -s that should have retired years ago and had to live on Medicare

Q: i hv developed nauseatic feelings without vomiting from late dec,05. Till its not fully cured.?
i hv developed nauseatic feelings without vomiting from late december,05. Till its not fully cured. I have gone through drugs like Omeprazole,Rabeprazole with Domperidone. it help me a lot initially. After taking Domstol-o for 4 months i was quite ok for few months. But now its like that almost every time when i had to leave my home[for college/other works] i feel nauseatic problems/ wind reflux. but when i am in home there is almost nothing problamatic. i am emetophobic. i also have more sensitivity in my neck region. when ever hair/tooth paste bubble come into contact i get that reflux problems[but for few seconds]. i quit almost any rich food. But still it occur. specially when i am on my way to college. Help me.

A: I know how you are feeling as I get Gastric Reflux too and have been on Omeprazole for about 18 months now. I don’t feel nauseated anymore but still bring up small amounts of acid every hour and I need to sit up in bed.

The way that you seem to get more symptomatic when you are going out gets me thinking though that it is anxiety related. You are studying at college and you work : you have “allot on your plate” so to speak. Try to set aside some time for yourself to relax, maybe meditate, do yoga, read a novel or play soothing music.

Along with the acid reflux you could also have a bit of bile reflux. If so you will have to make sure you stay away from fatty foods as well as coffee and coke and the spicy foods you know you can not have.

A: First call your insurance company and ask for a list of covered acid inhibitors then call and ask your doctor which of them he/she could prescribe instead.
I’ve had your same problem along with elevated liver enzymes and they initially prescribed Acifex but my insurance wouldn’t cover it but did cover Nexium. Go figure. So, it seems those two can be used interchangeably and may be an option for you. Also, ask your doctor if they have any samples in the office they could provide until you get the insurance to cover another drug. Usually Gastroenterologists and some family doctors will have samples available. Good luck.

A: I have taken many of them and found the Zantac 150 over the counter stopped my acid reflux and heart burn but recently I stopped taking it after I lost 16 pounds.
