Q: Is there any other drug then Nexium, that will work in the same way !?
I have been talking Nexium for five years and it works! the price went sky high . looking to see if any one could give me some advise on this matter. Is there any other drug that can take its place !

A: if you really need this then you might want to look online, I placed a link below for a generic of nexium that I have bought for my wife. hope this helps

Q: Can anyone tell me if there is a generic version of an acid blocker drug like Nexium or Protonix?
I may sign up for insurance that only pays for generics but I take Protonix to block my stomah acid producton.

A: Been taking Omeprazole (20MG) for years with excellent results.

Q: I need help with this question: What is the classification of the drug Nexium?

A: esomeprazole is the S enantiomer of omeprazole. It is a Proton Pump Inhibitor (PPI) for stomach acid/reflux. It binds irreversibly and takes a few days to work due to lengthy turnover PPs.

Q: the drug Plavix and the drug Nexium Taken together, is it harmful?

A: There is recent information that suggests drugs like Nexium make Plavix less effective or ineffective.

Q: Is Nexium an over the counter or prescription drug?
Thanks.

A: it is a prescription drug. you cannot by it off the shelf.

Q: alternative for nexium ulcer drug?

A: Since you asked this question in Alternative Medicine I am going to assume that you are not looking for other pharmaceuticals to use instead of Nexium, but rather looking for natural and.or herbal remedies to use instead of Nexium or any other pharmaceutical. If that is the case, the good news is that there are a number of good alternatives which may help with stomach ulcers:

Bananas. Eat at least three bananas a day. These fruits contain an antibacterial substance that may inhibit the growth of ulcer-causing H. pylori. And studies show that animals fed bananas have a thicker stomach wall and greater mucus production in the stomach, which helps build a better barrier between digestive acids and the lining of the stomach. Eating plantains is also helpful.

Cayenne pepper. Cayenne pepper is a wonderful ulcer healing spice. And it dulls the pain! It’s a bit strong and may take getting used to. Start with one-eighth teaspoon of cayenne pepper in a glass of water twice a day. Work your way up to a quarter-teaspoon. If you would rather, you can take cayenne capsules that you can get at the health food store. Take three a day right after meals.

Raw cabbage. The best home remedy that I know is raw cabbage. To make it easy, juice your cabbage with a juicer. Try mixing it with carrots in your juicer to make it go down easier! (it’s not too bad, honest!) Drink half a cup of the juice before each meal and at bed time (make sure that it is fresh!). Don’t be surprised if you ulcer is gone within a few weeks!

Garlic. Garlic’s antibacterial properties include fighting H. pylori. Take two small crushed cloves a day.

Plums. Red- and purple-colored foods inhibit the growth of H. pylori. Like plums, berries too can help.

Slippery Elm Bark. The bark of slippery elm is used for its ability to soothe the mucous membranes that line the stomach and duodenumm. It’s often taken in powdered form. Some herbalists recommend taking about one teaspoon of powdered slippery elm bark (added to one cup of warm water to form a gruel-like substance) three times a day.

Honey. Honey soothes and reduces inflammation of the lining of the stomach.

A few other great ulcer remedies are: barley water, aloe juice, propolis capsules, licorice root or marshmallow root.

I hope that I provided helpful information that is in line with what you were looking for.

All the best!

Q: Do acid reflux drugs like prilosex nexium protonix even pepcid cause you to not digest food?
Do acid reflux drugs like prilosex nexium protonix even pepcid cause you to not digest food?
It makes sense no stomach acid no digestion therefore foods will just sit in your stomach as much 4 times as long! This means you will have less acid but feel full bloated get gas and just feel bad because of minimal digestion?

A: no. The half life of these drugs is about 1-1.5 hours, and they don’t inactivate every proton pump, and more are synthesized by the parietal cells in your stomach. They just do what they say, reduce acid.

Q: Is Nexium a prescription drug?

A: yes

Q: Does anyone know the long term effects of Nexium?
I have been on Nexium for 5 years for GERD. It really helps me alot and if I go off of it for more than 2 days, I get into alot of pain with hearburn and upset stomach. I am 30 years old and don’t really like relying on a drug like this. Are there any long term side effects to this drug?

A: Hi

I have been using Nexium for 4 years, and it is great drug, it stopped by heartburn and reflux problems .

Recently I have found out that I have elevated liver enzymes. I have been trying all types of treatments but nothing was working, then a doctor friend asked me to stop Nexium and surprisingly in the last 2 months the toxic enzymes have been retreating.

If u r using Nexium for a long time do get a liver function test just in case. I do believe it is great drug, I am suffering after stopping it but I also have to worry about my liver.

good luck

Q: my dog just ate a bottle filled with Nexium, what should I do?
I have a large dog (lab) but hes still fairly small and he got to a bottle of Nexium, a heartburn relief drug. I’m not sure how many he ate, or if he even ate any. What should i do?
i’m 15, home alone, and i don’t know the vet’s number
I cannot contact the vet. is there anything i can do at home?

i’m not even sure if he ate anything

A: give him a cap full of peroxide and call the number on the bottle

Q: Need to come off Nexium after 2 years?
I read Nexium has wicked rebound effects. I’ve tried twice to stop it and both times the acid was horrible and I had to take one.. Any way to stop Nexium without so much discomfort? I ve already started taking digestive enzymes and a probiotic weeks ago to help with recent digestion problems I think is caused by taking this drug too long.
Ive heard first taking Tagament or Zantac with the Nexium can help someone ease off it.

A: I had been taking Nexium for years, but was having problems with my stomach (especially between meals). I quit about 2 months ago and started taking digestive enzymes. At first, the heartburn was horrible, but it did get better over time. I decided to try a more natural way to control the reflux: to eat smaller meals and shed some weight, since pressure on the esophagus is greater when you are overweight. I have shed 15 pounds so far and feel great. I am trying to not eat too late at night, and I take a Pepcid Complete before bedtime, to control nighttime acid production. My thinking was that the acid that Nexium takes away is needed to digest properly. Once my gnarly stomach went away (thanks to the resumed acid production and digestive enzymes) it was easy to reduce my food intake and lose weight. It also made sense to me that Pepcid, taken at bedtime would not inhibit digestion, but combat the reflux when it is at it’s worst. Nexium is overkill, and I will never go back on it!

Q: Intestinal drugs Achiphex vs. Nexium. What is the difference in what they are good for?

A: Aciphex (rebeprazole) and Nexium (esomeprazole) are both proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) that decrease acid production in the stomach. They work in the same way. There have been no large scale studies that suggest differences between (PPIs). The studies that suggest differences are small and inconclusive. Go with the drug that works best for you, and also consider price through your insurance provider. Prilosec (omeprazole) is a PPI that is available over the counter and usually costs less than either Nexium or Aciphex. An average for Prilosec OTC is around 0.78 per tablet. Furthermore, most insurance companies will cover the generic version of prescription Prilosec at a low copay like $5, $10, etc.

Q: what is the best heart burn relief drug?
Ok, tums suck, pepcid sucks, Malox works great for me, and alkaseltzer helps a lot.

Im gonna try zantac 150. So what do you recommend else be tried for someone who already takes nexium.

Thanks!

Is zantac good btw?

A: prilosec 20 mg works for me.

Q: Will these drugs give me a false positive in a drug test?
I take Advair, Singulair, Nexium, Pepcid, and Prednisone. Please provide a source or how you know if you think it will.

A: When you take a drug test they always ask you to put down all the drugs you are currently taking whether they’re prescription drugs or not. Be honest and you’ve got nothing to worry about.

Q: Nexium stomach flu help?
Hi, i currently have the stomach flu or food poisoning i am not to sure which one. But i am also currently prescribed on the drug nexium. If i have flu/food poisoning, should i take nexium or skip a dose for today??

A: I suggest calling your doctor and asking about your medication. There is probably no point in taking it if you are going to throw it up.
