Q: How can they possibly expect to sell this new drug, aciphex?
pronounced @ss effects? i’ll be skipping this one

A: How could the makers of that drug not notice that? LOL!

Q: Could the prescription drug ACIPHEX be the reason I can’t get pregnant?
My husband has been on this acid reflux med and since we’ve started have not been able to conceive. Do you think this is why? Has anyone been on a med and stopped and actually got pregnant??? thanks!
We have an appt next week with a specialist, and our primary said it doesn’t affect anything, but I still wonder. My husband is going to try to stay off of it until next week to see how he feels, which I hope is okay…

A: I searched it online, and wasn’t able to find any website (news, medical, or even just a personal blog) saying anything about Acipex contributing to their infertility.

Why not take a trip to the doctor? The doctor will be able to tell you for sure if there’s any study he/she knows about regarding Aciphex and infertility. Plus, perhaps you and your husband could get some tests done to see why you’re unable to conceive while you’re there.

Best Wishes!

Q: Is AcipHex 20mg a gluton free drug,?
problem with drug reactions, does AcipHex share ingrediants with the following: Aleve, Dimetapp, Trimox, Tetracycline, Erythromycim, Bactrim, Keflex, Ommicef, Zithromax, or is the sulfer content.

A: It’s a purely synthetic drug, so it would have no way of having any gluton properties in it.

Equally, it doesn’t share any equal ingredients of the above meds you listed that I’ve ever been aware of.

Not to worry. If you bloat and have diarrhea, all you have to do is stop taking it.

I prescribe this medication quite often. Works well.

Q: i need any and all information regarding the drug aciphex please???
let me add that personal experiences with use of this drug are what im primarily looking for . bad and good reactions to taking it . ect.

A: Hi!
You can read here:

Q: Does anyone else think the new Acid control drug AciPhex sound like “A** Effects?”?
No kidding, this is the second time I have seen this commercial, and it always surprises me that the announcer is saying “A** Effects”!

A: You are right, That’s exactly what it sounds like. Even when I say it fast

Q: ANOTHER DRUG THAT PREFORMS LIKE ACIPHEX , BUT STARTS WITH AN O?
LOOKING FOR SOMETHING THAT IS LIKE ACIPHEX

A: like, oxy-cotton?

Q: what drug does the same as aciphex?
is there anything that will do the same as aciphex . i am out and it is over $200 a month

A: Try Prilosec which is available without a prescription. It is in the same class as Aciphex (proton pump inhibitor) and therefore works using the same mechanism of action producing similar results. It is also much less expensive.

Q: that drug for heartburn…acipHex?
does that name not make you laugh????
“A** Effects” How can they not notice that?

A: Aciphex? Yeah, I gits dat n e tyme I eat pastrami!LOL I git all warm n’ fuzzy c n yo devilface…; ^ P How xzactly they pronounce dat?

Q: How long can side effects of a presription drug last after you stop taking the drug?
I was given a 30 sample of Aciphex for a stomach issue. The stomach pain did go away with in a few days but as it faded I began getting extreme burning/stinging pains in the back of my legs. A few days later the same pain then ran up into my left arm. My left arm soon felt very weak and my finger tips were going numb. I had joint pain all over. The burning pain went into my face and top of my head. My vision became messed up also. My doctor told me it wasnt the Aciphex and I got blood test done for every deseise you can imagine. They came back negative. I also had a brain MRI done to rule out MS. I found website with people with the same conditions that took Aciphex. I stopped taking it right away and the side effects started to decrease. Its been a week now and I still have them. Sometimes the pain is as bad as when I was on the drug. That stuff is like poison. If anyone can help answer my question I would really appreciate it.

A: It depends on your system as much as anything. Try doing some immune boosting tactics as tolerated.

Some ideas:
vinegar 1 tsp vinegar in a glass of apple juice.
garlic – crush some garlic, let it stand 10 min, add to 1tbsp butter and spread on bread, toast on griddle.
walk – a walk will help blood flow and processing
yogurt – with live culture, helps rebuild digestion and processing so will help clean out your system
fiber – same as yogurt, help clean out the system and get things processed
eliminate sugar – sugar is an immune supressant and weakens your system. NO sugar substitutes are not okay while eliminating sugar, they are as bad as the drug you are trying to recover from. If you want to sweeten, liquid Stevia is the best option. When you are feeling okay, moderate REAL sugar is fine.
There are other immune boosting things you can do, but the ones above will give you a start.

My final suggestion would be to see a Naturopathic doctor for both the symptoms that caused you to take the med and recovering from the med. They are very good, and can work with the same illnesses that an MD can, just in safer and more natural ways.

Sorry for your pain and suffering. It sounds horrible. I hope something there helps you get headed in the right direction.

Q: Do the prescription drugs Nexium and AcipHex have the same treatment results?

A: As a general rule, standard doses of proton pump inhibitors (20 mg of omeprazole, 30 mg of lansoprazole, 20 mg of rabeprazole, or 40 mg of pantoprazole, all administered before breakfast) will relieve symptoms and heal esophagitis in approximately 85 to 90 percent of patients.

Most patients with GERD, particularly those with sever esophagitis, will relapse once therapy is discontinued.

AcipHex possesses a slightly faster onset of action because of its pharmacokinetics.

Overall, when comparing proton pump inhibitors (PPI), such as Nexium and AcipHex, while some differences have been reported, the magnitude of differences has been small and of uncertain clinical importance. In particular, the degree to which any of the reported differences would justify the selection of one versus another PPI, particularly when considering cost-effectiveness, is unclear.

Q: Are the marketers of this new drug incredibly stupid or brilliant, see details?
Aciphex sounds exactly like “Ass Effects”
Please see the commercial on Youtube here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TId5izj6cHQ&feature=related

This is a real drug.
Am I right, it does sound exactly like they are saying “Ass Effects”
*** is A-z-z

A: I doubt they’re either stupid or brilliant. I’d say they’re just oblivious.

Q: Why does my lower left arm feel like its on fire???
I had some really bad side effects from the drug Aciphex. I have been off it for two weeks and some of the side effects have gone away. But recently I started a new side effect. It feels like someone is holding torch to my arm and sometimes the bottom of my feet. Any answers?

A: after 2 weeks of being off of it, i would think that you shouldn’t get any new side effects from the medication. talk to your doctor. it could be either circulation issues or it could be something wrong with your nerves.

Q: I just took a drug test and popped for amphetamines but I am not taking any illegal drugs. What could cause it?
Ok here is the situation. I used to be a Naval Law Enforcement Officer / Federal Police. I am the last person to use any illegal substances , yet I just took a drug test for a new job and popped for amphetamines. What could have caused this? The only thing I take daily is aciphex for my Acid Reflux and Randitine for it also but only when it’s bad and I need an extra helping. I take Vitamin C daily but thats it!
I drink only water, juice and tea, and have not had any juice or tea in a while.
Any ideas at all?
Obama 08…….Why in the hell would I lie to a bunch of people on the internet? The answer I do not know because I am not lying. So try someone else for 2 points .
No I have not taken any cold medicines. It is odd I agree 100%. When I was a Federal Cop I was also a urinalysis coordinator. Which means that I was trained in giving drug tests and everything about drugs. But I didn’t learn about every type of Prescription Drug and it’s effects on drug tests so thats why I am asking.

Now on rare occasions the quick tests have given false positives but that is so rare it’s almost non existant.
Well I know about Poppy Seeds, and that this was not an opiate I came across positive on though. They are going to let me re-test on Monday and I am going to do that. But what really irks me is that I do not know why I came up positive though.

A: Something is not right here. Aciphex, ranitidine or vitamin C do not even cause a false positive for amphetamines. Have you taken any cold medications in the last 4 days?

EDIT: Poppy seeds are a false positive for opiates only.

EDIT: Tell them (don’t ask) to do a comfirmatory test. They are 99.99% reliable.

Q: OK…which one of you came up with the name Aciphex?
I just saw a commercial for this stuff and it’s pronounced a** effects.

Look it up.

It’s a drug that helps your digestive system. But on the other end of the drug’s ironic name.

A: Huh. I never thought about it like that. I’ve seen the commercial too though. I wonder if they called it that on purpose.

Q: Does protoron pump inhibitor drungs (like Prilosec) cause increased hunger?
Does taking proton pump inhibitor drugs disturbs the bodies metabolism? Like do you feel more hungry after eating and after eating sweet things while taking drugs like Prilosec/Aciphex? This is for a person whose is not diabetic.

A: I’ve been taking Prilosec for over 10 years and have not noticed ANY side effects at all…..
Proton Pump Inhibitors should not disturb the body’s metabolism. In theory the only thing that might be distrupted are absorbtion of nutients that require acid to become or stay active, and this has not been regularly noted by the medical press.
